Welcome to The Desert Pulse: Eat, Stay, Play. Here we introduce residents and visitors to the most delectable places to eat, hospitable places to stay, along with the fun and exciting things to do across our regions desert floor. Today we take you to breakfast at George’s Corner located on the corner of St. George Blvd. and Main Street in Ancestor Square in Historic Downtown St. George.
You may be thinking exactly what I was when we were asked to review George’s for breakfast. What? George’s Corner has breakfast. I have eaten at George’s Corner several times for business lunches, a few times for dinner, but never breakfast. This was truly going to be a treat! Too bad, I felt too guilty to order a margarita with my huevous rancheros.
Yes, I ordered huevous rancheros. I get a little nervous when ordering the heuvous rancheros at restaurants, because I am very picky with my tomato sauces. I quickly found out the tomatoes were fresh, the sauce made that morning. It was absolutely delicious. Kory ordered the biscuits & gravy with 2 eggs and hash browns, Alyx ordered the steak and eggs. Oh and, of course no breakfast is complete without our mocha coffees.
We were treated with fresh baked, buttermilk biscuits made from scratch. My mouth waters just thinking about them. Everything on our plates was presented beautifully and was even more scrumptious to eat. I don’t think there was a crumb left on any of our plates–we loved it!
The owners Randall and Nikki raise chickens and use the freshly laid eggs every morning. The yokes were a brilliant bright yellow, with a hearty farm fresh flavor–something I miss from my younger days of living on the farm.
Besides offering a fantastic breakfast menu; George’s Corner has amazing burgers, fish & chips, and salads for lunch. They offer a full service bar with local micro-brewed beers and dinners to talk about forever! In addition, they offer live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. George’s Corner is a great place to include for any downtown adventure. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, the food is terrific and the service is spectacular.
